Prophylaxis

In general, prophylaxis is a method of preventing diseases. Prophylaxis (a medicine) is a way of preventing the transmission of STIs shortly after unprotected sexual contact.

The Spot

  • The Spot is open to individuals between the ages of 13-24. It offers free HIV/ STI testing and treatment, as well as contraception and counseling. Walk-in appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 pm to 7 pm. Call at 9 am on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays to schedule a same-day appointment.

  • Project ARK provides testing for HIV and Syphillis, treatment and medication, case management, counseling, support groups, and other services.

Planned Parenthood

  • Planned Parenthood offers free and confidential STI and HIV testing as well as treatments and vaccines.

  • WashU Med Contraceptive Choice Center offers STI testing and treatment.

  • This hotline can provide 24/7 emotional support and information to anyone at risk or living with HIV/AIDS, in addition to family members and caregivers.

Food Outreach

  • This food outreach program is eligible for those with an HIV/AIDS diagnosis. This program can include dietetic counseling, meal provision, emotional support, education, and more.
